The City of Nacogdoches seeks a talented, passionate, and motivated municipal attorney to serve as City Attorney. The City Attorney coordinates and performs a wide scope of highly complex professional legal services for the City of Nacogdoches, the City, County, City Staff, and various boards and commissions, by providing legal advice, opinions, recommendations, and participating in litigation. This position is also responsible for prosecution in Municipal Court.
The selected candidate must hold a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and have a minimum of 5 years of broad professional legal experience in municipal law or private law experience in Procurement, Land Use, Real Estate, Utility Law, Constitutional Law, Federal & State Grants, Construction, Economic Development, and Environmental Law. Diverse legal research experience and courtroom/trial experience with a background in prosecution is preferred. Must possess a valid driver's license. State Bar of Texas License is required. Possession of or ability to obtain a license to practice before the U.S. District Court and the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. No public State Bar of Texas or Foreign State disciplinary history.
