The role of the Diversity and Inclusion Manager is to work closely with the Sr. Director of Attorney Recruiting and Development, Human Resources department, the Chief Diversity Officer, the Diversity and Inclusion Council (DAIC), the Affinity Groups and Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) in the management and implementation of the firm’s strategic objectives for diversity and inclusion.
Locations: Kansas City and St Louis, MO, Dallas, Houston, Chicago and Boston. This position is not available to be performed in Colorado.
Working in collaboration with the Chief Diversity Officer and the Sr. Director of Attorney Recruiting & Development, will lead and manage programs related to internal and external diversity and inclusion initiatives for all U.S. offices.
Responsible for analyzing and measuring highly confidential metrics related to internal diversity groups and initiatives.
Participate as member in various DAIC and WLI initiatives.
Work closely with DAIC co-chairs in the planning and support of programs, affinity group meeting and other meetings.
Collaborate with DAIC members and sub-committees to identify opportunities and develop new strategies for the recruitment, retention, and promotion of women lawyers, lawyers of color, and LGBT lawyers.
Preparation and maintenance of the diversity budget.
Develop and maintain relationships with all outside organizations the Firm sponsors and responsibility to oversee sponsorship usage for ROI and reporting purposes.
Act as the DAIC Liaison for the office-led D&I Committees.
Perform such other/additional duties as may from time to time be assigned.
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Conversant and current in diversity and inclusion best practices and trends.
Proficient in the use of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Candidate must have strong oral and written communication skills.
Candidate must have the ability to work independently, exercise discretion and judgment to reach strategic objectives, and be highly motivated.
Candidate must have proven problem-solving ability, be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and take responsibility for designing and implementing goals.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS: Required: Bachelor’s degree required
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Law firm or professional services firm experience a plus Two to four years of diversity and inclusion experience is preferred
