Robinson+Cole makes a commitment not only to our clients' needs and to our community, but also to the recruiting and t...raining of new associates. First-year associates gain a thorough introduction to the practice of law at Robinson+Cole through our Professional Development Program. Orientation to the firm begins with a comprehensive introduction to administrative procedures and personnel, firm systems, practice area functions, and expectations for new associates. Incoming associates are matched with senior and junior-level mentors who commit themselves to provide guidance and insight into the practice of law and the firm culture of Robinson+Cole.
Our associate professional development program is designed to facilitate the transition from law student, law clerk or junior attorney to practicing lawyer at Robinson+Cole. Training is provided on both a firm wide scale and a practice-specific basis. Throughout the year, we conduct monthly seminars including topics such as pro bono work, client relations skills, and practice administration as well as a luncheon discussion series that addresses various hot topics in the law that are of interest to our lawyers. As a tool to further assist ongoing training and learning, the firm has created a state-of-the-art mock trial room, which enables litigation lawyers to prepare witnesses more effectively and work on trial strategies. The facility is also used for the highly engaging firm-wide mock trial competition. In addition, the firm's Professional Development Committee develops and presents mandatory in-house seminars geared toward attorneys at all levels. Robinson+Cole's philosophy is to hire associates who will eventually become the future of our firm.
