Lane Powell seeks a motivated individual to support our Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, and Diversity Departments. This role works directly with the directors in each department and assists in the coordination of law student and lawyer recruiting, pre-arrival and integration activities, and lawyer talent development, and firm-wide diversity efforts. This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position (non-exempt) located in our Seattle or Portland office. This is a matrixed position that reports to the Director of Professional Development and Diversity and the Director of Attorney Recruiting.
Job responsibilities fall in to three primary categories: Talent acquisition, Talent Development and Diversity, and Talent Management Administration.
Talent Acquisition:
Coordinate Legal Talent Acquisition initiatives and activities for lateral, entry-level, and summer associate recruiting
Coordinate interviewer trainings and candidate evaluation process
Schedule candidate interviews
Coordinate candidate experience, such as assist candidates with questions related to travel for interviews and updating candidates on their status post interview
Support the Director of Attorney Recruiting with the offer process in close partnership with HR
Coordinate the Firm’s participation in recruiting events
Assist with sourcing legal talent utilizing tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter
Partner with HR to collect and track data to support Mansfield Rule certification and other reporting needs and to assist in analyzing internal metrics and industry benchmarks related to recruitment, hiring, and retention efforts
Maintain tracking system for prospects and candidates (viRecruit and UltiPro)
Assist with calendar management for the Director of Attorney Recruiting to ensure participation in key interviews and to help facilitate regular meetings with lateral hires and key stakeholders within the organization
Support new attorney and lateral attorney integration, including event assistance and coordination of integration efforts
Track new and lateral associate integration processes
Coordinate new attorney onboarding process, including orientation and communication
Support the administration of the summer associate program, including managing logistical details and the work assignment system
Talent Development and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI):
Provide support for the Firm’s DEI initiatives, committees, and programs focused on the recruitment, development, retention, and advancement of women and diverse lawyers, including sponsorships of and partnerships with external organizations, bar associations, and law schools
Assist with attorney talent development initiatives, resources, trainings, and programs, including Continuing Legal Education (CLE)-related duties for internal professional development programs
Coordinate mentor and sponsor programs, including tracking assignments, planning and coordinating programming, communications, and resources
Collaborate with HR and coordinate attorney evaluation, advancement, and compensation processes, including managing the performance review platform (viEval), preparing materials and communications, and scheduling related meetings
Collaborate on internal and external reporting and completion of diversity-related RFPs and surveys
Serve as department point person for Learning Management System
Track associate metrics including assignments, workflow, and utilization rates
Perform other duties as assigned, including those with respect to Firm efforts focused on wellness, attorney engagement, and pro bono and community service
Talent Management Administration:
Assist with department tracking of expenses and balances to support adherence to the budget; process expense reports and check requests
Coordinate and maintain relevant data, reports, documents, and presentations
Maintain and update department documents and resources on a regular basis
Provide logistical support for events, training, programming, and initiatives
Maintain department schedules and manage calendars for regular and periodic department and committee meetings, trainings, and programs
Collaborate with Marketing and IT departments on recruiting, professional development, and DEI content for internal and external communications, such as newsletters, intranet, Firm website, and social media
Attend and represent the firm at internal and external programs, conferences, trainings and client events, some of which are held after normal work hours. Travel or work overtime as needed for programs, activities, and initiatives
Miscellaneous administrative duties such as filing, creating nametags, and preparing materials
Handle additional related projects as assigned
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field
3 or more years of experience in an administrative role
Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills
Excellent organization, writing, and communication skills
Strong data tracking and reporting skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while exhibiting strong attention to detail
Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively while handling a variety of tasks and projects
Must be creative, flexible, adaptable to change, and results-oriented
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience providing recruiting, HR, or diversity and inclusion programmatic support in the law firm, legal department, or law school setting
