Honigman is looking for a smart, highly motivated, organized self-starter with a commitment to legal excellence and recruitment to join the firm’s Attorney Development & Recruitment hiring team as either a Senior Coordinator OR Manager of Legal Recruitment. The Attorney Development & Recruitment Department is a collaborative and energetic group dedicated to attorney recruitment, professional development and well-being. This hire will be responsible for helping the firm’s AD&R team execute on lateral attorney hiring, including recruiting activities for attorneys hired into full-time positions as associates and staff attorneys, as well as those hired into temporary or contract attorney positions, and patent agent hiring. This individual will also assist with attorney onboarding and integration, as well as with implementation of industry best practices and execution on process improvements, including establishing and achieving firm specific goals in areas like lateral attorney retention and diversity in recruitment.
Work with the Director of Attorney Lateral Recruitment & Integration and the recruiting team to establish and execute on lateral candidate search strategies, across all departments and offices.
Manage full lifecycle lateral associate, staff attorney and patent agent recruitment across all of Honigman’s offices and practice areas:
Establish lateral candidate search strategy and criteria for each need;
Screen and review lateral candidate resumes, sharing qualified candidate resumes with key stakeholders; assist with interview decision-making;
Coordinate the interview process internally and externally with hiring partners, candidates and search firm contacts;
Navigate the offer and due diligence processes; and
Assist with lateral onboarding and integration;
Facilitate the firm’s continued expansion of its diversity recruitment efforts, including assisting with creation of diversity pipelines for future associate, staff attorney and patent agent hiring;
Stay well-informed on legal recruiting market trends to recognize shifts in the attorney recruiting models and suggest new best practices to adopt;
Assist with developing recruiting materials and collateral shared with candidates and search firm contacts;
Assume ownership and manage assignments through to a successful conclusion, communicating with relevant stakeholders and team members throughout important points in each project; and
Strive to continuously improve knowledge, skills and abilities and seek guidance and feedback to improve performance and productivity.
Bachelor’s Degree required;
5+ years of legal recruiting experience working within a law firm or legal search firm setting; candidates with commensurate law school recruiting experience will also be considered;
Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and search efforts and complete them effectively under time constraints;
Outstanding interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), analytical and organizational skills required;
Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility to new ideas and to new approaches; and
Strong overall technology and database management skills, including familiarity with the Microsoft Suite, FileSite, and ViDesktop, along with a willingness to learn new technologies as they become available.
