Everytown Law seeks a talented and creative attorney to serve as Associate Counsel. This attorney will focus on litigating cases on behalf of individuals and communities impacted by gun violence. Everytown Law is the litigation arm of Everytown for Gun Safety—the nation’s biggest gun violence prevention organization. We are the largest team of impact litigators in the country dedicated to advocating in the courts for gun violence prevention—one of the most pressing issues of our time. Everytown Law engages in two primary areas of law: - affirmative litigation to fight dangerous gun laws, enforce gun violence prevention laws, and represent survivors of gun violence challenging the gun industry’s dangerous business practices, and
- defending life-saving gun laws against Constitutional and preemption challenges.

SCOPE OF WORK The primary responsibilities of the Associate Counsel will be: - Working with the team to develop and implement Everytown Law’s national federal and state court affirmative litigation practice including legal research, factual development, and strategy analysis.
- Litigating cases in conjunction with national and local co-counsel.
- Drafting and editing memos, complaints, pleadings, and appellate and trial court briefs.
- Providing direct representation to survivor clients.
- Working on scholarly articles and op/eds as necessary.
- Coordinating closely with other Everytown departments.
Responsibilities may also include speaking at public events, including presentations to law school students and at other public interest law events.
