The Environmental Attorney will primarily provide legal and strategic advice related to activities at all assigned federal or state Superfund sites, facilities regulated under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and other hazardous waste sites in the United States for the several environmental response and custodial trusts for which Greenfield provides professional services. The Environmental Attorney will provide legal support to technical teams and advise on, among other things, regulatory and contractual legal requirements.
Education and Training
JD from credentialed university
Active bar license in good standing in at least one state
10 or more years of environmental legal practice in law firm, government, or as in-house counsel
Experience with legal requirements and issues arising under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act, RCRA, and/or state equivalent laws and regulations
Excellent, clear, and effective verbal communication skills
Superior writing skills
Highly attentive to detail
Ability to multitask and prioritize competing tasks
Strong work ethic
Ability to foster a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment
Additional Desired Qualifications:
Real estate or corporate transactional experience
Experience negotiating complex legal agreements and contracts
Experience working with technical experts, contractors, and/or consultants
Pro-active approach to communications
Ability to communicate legal concepts to non-attorneys
Interest in developing new skills and learning about new subject areas
Ability to develop strong working relationships with people from different backgrounds and perspectives
Ability to build cohesive, efficient teams
Willingness to work remotely and travel domestically as needed
