Assists with the direction of the Center for Professional Development and Externships, to prepare law students and GU Law alumni to secure successful opportunities in a wide variety of careers. Provides both curricular and co-curricular education to students to further their professional development and understanding of legal careers. Teaches and supervises students in the externship program, providing instruction, feedback, and graded evaluation. Assists with externship counseling, site and supervision vetting.
Terminal Law degree; Prior experience as a practicing attorney; Excellent interpersonal communication skills; Ability to consistently demonstrate positive attitude, maintain confidentiality, and exhibit professional demeanor and appearance when interacting with students, alumni, faculty, administration, staff, employers, bar associations and the public on behalf of Gonzaga University School of Law; Excellent oral and written communications skills with the ability to consistently write and speak professionally; Excellent presentation skills and event organization and promotion skills; Substantial knowledge of personal computers and word processing, including document revision functions, Outlook, PowerPoint, and other software applications; Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to work on multiple tasks; Ability to be consistently productive, self-directed, and take initiative; Ability to travel as needed.
