MID-LEVEL/SENIOR ASSOCIATE: HEALTH CARE & LIFE SCIENCES PRACTICE (Regulatory/Fraud & Abuse)
The law firm of Epstein Becker & Green is seeking a fraud and abuse attorney to work at the level of a mid-level or senior associate to join its Health Care and Life Sciences practice. The office location is flexible, and we will consider candidates in any of the Firm’s existing offices.
Candidates should have a minimum of five years of relevant health care regulatory and compliance experience with a demonstrated deep expertise in the federal fraud and abuse laws and current knowledge of the regulatory framework, especially as it relates to the 2020 Stark Law and Anti-Kickback Statute final rules. Successful candidates should be able to apply their working fraud and abuse knowledge to arrangements involving hospitals, physicians and group practices, ambulatory surgery centers, clinical labs and other health care providers and contractual matters, including professional services, recruitment and employment agreements will be required; and should also be able to navigate state kickback and self-referral prohibition laws. Candidates should have knowledge of and experience with working with both the OIG and CMS voluntary self-disclosure processes. Additional experience advising clients on regulatory matters related to Medicare and Medicaid regulations, including experience with coding coverage and payment rules, and any health-reform related initiatives (such as ACOs, medical homes, bundled payment programs); as well as regulatory counseling in connection with corporate and transactional matters with health care providers, such as, mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, affiliations, MSOs, IPAs, and PHOs.
Candidates must possess strong academic credentials and have excellent communication and writing skills. Juris Doctorate degree required. Admission to practice law in one of the following jurisdictions is mandatory: California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Florida, Tennessee, Texas, or Washington, DC.
