The Second Judicial District is seeking qualified applicants to fill a Law Clerk position in the Webster County Courthouse in Fort Dodge, IA. This is intended to be a 12 month clerkship opportunity beginning in August, 2021. Depending on funding, availability, and performance, this clerkship may be extended up to an additional year.
Employees in this position perform research and administrative functions for multiple judges. Knowledge of substantive and procedural law and statutes applicable to jurisdiction of the district court. Ability to interact with the public, judges, attorneys, and government officials in a variety of situations and circumstances. Ability to formulate and express ideas on complex technical and legal subjects clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.

Graduation from an accredited law school is required (applicants may apply before they have officially graduated). High standard of academic excellence and considerable experience in legal research and writing are desirable.
