Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP, an AM Law 100 firm, has an immediate opening for a Recruiting and Talent Management Coordinator in our Del Mar or Downtown San Diego office.
As a member of the Sheppard Mullin’s Talent Management Team, the Recruiting and Talent Management Coordinator will support the Del Mar and San Diego and offices on all aspects of the entry-level recruiting process including on-campus recruiting and the summer associate program. From time to time the candidate may also assist with lateral associate recruiting and integration. Additional responsibilities include assistance with Talent Management goals related to professional development and diversity and inclusion.

Register for and represent firm at on-campus interviews, job fairs and resume collections; review on-campus materials for interviewers; schedule callback interviews; plan and execute offer receptions; coordinate candidate follow-up; prepare offer documents
Assist with the planning and implementation of summer associate programs of West Coast offices, including: planning and attending events; handling expense reimbursements and vendor invoices; coordinating work assignments and evaluations; preparing offer decision packets; and serving as relationship liaison for summer associates, attorneys and staff
Assist in all aspects of the lateral recruiting cycle, including: drafting job descriptions; sourcing candidates; coordinating interviews; collecting feedback and facilitating decision-making conversations with hiring partners in accordance with established strategic goals; establishing and building relationships with external search firms; coordinating onboarding; and supporting integration efforts
Support diversity & inclusion initiatives and apply objective hiring procedures
Maintain applicant records; ensure data integrity; prepare and analyze statistics
Update recruiting materials and oversee their distribution to appropriate parties; update and draft forms and manuals for attorney and law student use throughout the year
Manage LinkedIn Recruiting for lateral hiring processes
Monitor shared entry-level recruiting mailbox
Conduct research on law school recruiting and policies; collect and report industry-related news and data as requested by Talent Management Team
Support attorneys in their career development, providing information and guidance on the competencies and performance required to grow in the firm; assist in the identification, mentoring, and promotion of high potential attorneys
Assist MCLE Administrator with internal CLE tracking and reporting; facilitate office CLE programming
Lead or support other national talent development programs, memberships, and initiatives
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate will exhibit the following qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree, or 1-2+ years of relevant work experience
Prior law firm or corporate recruiting experience required
Preferred Qualifications: Prior human resources and marketing experience preferred
Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree, or 1-2+ years of relevant work experience
Computer/Software Knowledge Required: Strong computer expertise, with advanced skills in Windows, MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Outlook and document management systems. Experience using an applicant tracking system. Preferred: Knowledge of viDesktop, iCIMS, Symplicity, and NetDocs is a plus. Advanced web skills and basic web/graphic design skills is helpful.
Travel Requirements Up to 25% travel. Travel to other U.S. offices for firm and recruiting events, as necessary.
