LEGAL ASSISTANT , Office of the General Counsel (OGC) , to provide legal administrative assistance to the deputy general counsel and three attorneys. Will work primarily with specific assigned attorneys and perform additional office-wide tasks in support of all attorneys and the OGC. Responsibilities include extensive calendar management; drafting and revising documents and correspondence; organizing and managing records in electronic document management system; assisting with document productions and subpoena responses; generating reports and presentations in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; conducting basic legal and other research; coordinating travel; preparing expense reports and reimbursements; organizing events; purchasing supplies/materials; attending to special project; and performing other office-wide duties.
Job Requirements REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; at least five years' experience in a law firm or in-house legal office, ideally in a litigation department; initiative and ability to independently organize, prioritize, and carry out detailed work and projects in a busy office environment with minimal supervision; familiarity with procedures of courts and administrative agencies; ability to troubleshoot, anticipate and meet strict deadlines, and manage a high volume of work with speed and efficiency; accuracy and attention to detail; collaborative work style; tact and good judgment with confidential and potentially sensitive information/relationships; writing, editing, and proofreading proficiency; and proficiency with MS Office, Zoom, Adobe, and PACER. OGC seeks a professional who can represent the office to internal and external stakeholders; develop and maintain excellent relationships and deal effectively with the public, clients, law firms, vendors, students, staff, and leadership at all levels of the Institute.
