The Assistant Dean/Director for Professional Compliance Education & Strategic Initiatives oversees the operation and growth of two US Healthcare Compliance Certification Programs (HCCPs), the Advanced Healthcare Compliance Certificate Program, the Diversity in Compliance Program, the Mayer Brown CLE event, and other compliance education programs. Responsible for marketing these programs, which includes attending industry events to promote and market all SHU programs. Oversees the operation and growth of Data Privacy and Security Compliance Certificate Program (DPSCCP), Certified Information Privacy Professional Bootcamps, and other privacy and compliance education programs.
Responsible for marketing these programs, which includes attending industry events to promote and market all SHU programs. Directs the operations of the Christie Institute for Public Policy which includes: (a) planning, budgeting, and marketing; (b) organizing Institute sponsored educational and networking events for students, attorneys, and alumni; and (c) with the Dean and/or faculty director, overseeing strategic planning for Institute growth. Working with Dean and relevant faculty, develops new law firm partnerships and corresponding programming. Oversees operation and growth of these partnerships, strategic planning, program budgets, and marketing. Supports the Dean and the Department of Alumni & Development by seeking outside support, grants, scholarships and funding from alumni and corporations and works with OCS to advise health/life sciences law students and alumni programs with curricular advisement and career counseling relating to health and life sciences industries. Works with Assistant Dean of Global Compliance and Professional Education on all overlapping administrative and support matters for compliance programs and events. Works with Dean and relevant faculty and administrators to develop new revenue-generating non-degree programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
U.S. Based Healthcare Compliance Certification and other compliance programs. Oversight of all activities of live U.S. HCCPs, DPSCCP, CIPP Bootcamps and other domestic compliance programming, including budget review, marketing, faculty recruitment, and program curriculum. Ensure program strategic goals are met through oversight of attendance, revenues, speaker relationships, curriculum updates, marketing activities, and website presence. Directly responsible for implementation of these programs, including faculty recruitment, curriculum, quality, budgeting, venue selection, marketing and related international and domestic travel, digital and social media marketing, and serving as onsite director each year. Engage in strategic planning and launch of new compliance programs.
Christie Institute Events & Activities. Collaborate with Deans, relevant faculty, staff, and outside parties to identify, develop and host a variety of educational and networking events throughout the year. Coordinate with Dean and relevant faculty on developing student opportunities in publics service and advising the educational experience and career progression of JD students interested in public service careers.
New Law Firm partnerships. Collaborate with Dean and relevant faculty, staff, and outside parties to identify and develop partnerships with law firms, develop resulting financial support for Law School programs and activities, and host a corresponding variety of educational and other events throughout the year. Coordinate with Dean to develop related opportunities for JD students.
Collaborate with Dean and other Law School administration and Law School faculty to identify appropriate grant and other revenue-generating opportunities.
Fulfill other Law School stewardship, leadership, committee, and administrative responsibilities of an Assistant Dean/Director as directed by the Dean.
Performs other administrative tasks and functions as assigned.
Juris Doctor degree and experience as a practicing attorney--particularly in health law--is helpful regarding all levels of student recruitment, advisement and career placement.
Significant practice experience in the area of health law is a strong plus. Experience in higher education also a plus.
