The ideal candidate will play a critical role in supporting media and public relations activities that drive brand awareness and favorability for one of the country’s largest law firms.
Working closely with the Senior Media Relations Manager, Director of Communications, and others, the successful candidate will support proactive and reactive outreach and responses to legal and business media, write and edit a wide array of media relations content, and provide a high level of coordination and service in serving firm partners and other internal clients.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Draft, edit, and proof-read press releases, media statements, press pitches, award nominations, and other types of announcements and media-related content. Coordinate the review and finalization/publication process.
Coordinate review of press material and collaboration with a wide array of internal stakeholders, including firm partners and attorneys, editors, web and social media teams, communications, and marketing personnel.
Manage press release and attorney-authored article calendar and tracker, as well as an extensive calendar of award and nomination opportunities. Manage a calendar of outreach to practice and office leadership.
Monitor and report on daily and weekly media coverage and peer analysis through use of the firm’s media monitoring platform. Leverage the platform to analyze the effectiveness of media campaigns. Run custom searches and reports on the platform as needed.
Share daily media articles and other news with relevant internal stakeholders and coordinate the posting of this content to the firm’s website.
Work with the Senior Media Relations Manager and outside PR firm to manage, prioritize, and respond to daily media requests and advance broader media engagement programs and priorities.
Create and maintain targeted media distribution lists and distribute practice updates to target media and reporters. Help draft and review media relations plans.
Monitor the coverage of important reporters to the firm for potential news cycle pitching.
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, English, marketing, business, or other relevant area.
Minimum of 2-5 years of work experience in media relations and/or a professional services environment.
Excellent writing ability and grammar, spelling and proofreading skills; ability to draft, create and proof high quality content for external audiences.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to maintain effective working relationships and communicate verbally and in writing in a professional and courteous manner.
Exceptional attention to detail and able to maintain various calendars and trackers.
Ability to quickly understand the firm’s priorities and external messaging and to incorporate those themes accordingly into PR communications.
Ability to work on multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
Proficient in MS Office Products (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel). Ability to understand and learn new technology applications for media monitoring, communications, data visualization, and design.
Understanding of social media platforms, online content distribution, and website optimization a plus.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented service environment.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Capable of staying productive and accurate with tight deadlines.
Self-motivated, takes initiative, and works independently.
This position may be filled in Denver and in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay Act, the compensation range in Denver for this position is $55,920 - $68,880, depending on qualifications and experience.
