Coordinates and supports the Associate Engagement team in the implementation of initiatives, including but not limited to; executing social and community building events, all activities related to the New York Mentor Programs, new associate and lateral integration and onboarding and other engagement related initiatives aimed at increasing the sense of community and continuing Skadden's culture across offices.
Creates, plans and implements social and community building events for attorneys by coordinating with conference services, facilities management and outside vendors.
Coordinates all aspects of Skadden's New York Mentor Programs for junior associates, laterals and law students.
Liaise with partners, practice managers, Recruiting and Diversity Equity and Inclusion ("DEI") teams on mentor assignments.
Create and execute mentoring events.
Conduct surveys and provide reports on participation.
Facilitates orientation related activities and integration of New York's new associates.
Works to increase the visibility of Associate Engagement resources
Devotes times to building professional relationships with the New York associates.
Oversees and updates Associate Engagement intranet pages.
Participates in the NY Associate Committee meetings and supports the subcommittees in achieving yearly goals
Participates in the implementation and reporting of Engagement Surveys.
Work with Skadden's Marketing Team to coordinate marketing campaigns around global survey launches.
Review results and create reports.
Support the Assistant Director and Global Manager of Engagement in designing and implementing programming in response to survey results.
Oversees Associate Engagement Assistant.
Generate attorney involvement in intramural sports teams, events with non-profits and other large corporate events.
Manages Firm resources responsibly.
Complies with and understands Firm operation, policies and procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum of three years of related experience
Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems
Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
Is creative and innovative in order to participate in supporting the Associate Engagement team in producing new initiatives.
Demonstrates close attention to detail.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities.
Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality.
Ability to organize and prioritize work.
