The Associate Director of Admissions, Admissions Interview Program, reports to the Dean of Admissions and manages an admission interview program that is unique in American legal education. Individual in-person interviews are strongly encouraged for all J.D. applicants and play an important role in the J.D. selection process. The Associate Director coordinates more than 800 VLS alumni interviewers who annually conduct approximately 1,500 local individual applicant interviews across 46 states, Washington, D.C, and 14 foreign locations. This position incorporates key responsibilities in applicant recruiting and selection that require close cooperation with the law school's senior leadership in Development/Alumni Relations and in Career Services.

Duties and Responsibilities
Administer Admissions Interview Program activities in close cooperation with Development and Alumni Relations
Invite, register, and advise approximately 800 alumni volunteer interviewers across the nation and abroad
Manage interview requests from applicants, assign interviewers, monitor completion, trouble-shoot, and post-decision follow up with interviewers using the interview program website
Plan and conduct off-campus interviewing events in multiple locations nationwide with alumni interviewers and admissions officers
Plan and alumni receptions for admitted applicants in multiple locations nationwide
Identify and implement technical enhancements to the interview program website in close cooperation with university IT services
Compile, analyze and report on information and data pertaining to the operation of the Admissions Interview Program and to the law school's strategic planning
Counsel prospective students in person, by phone, and in writing
Represent the law school at recruiting events across the nation
Counsel admitted applicants
Provide tours to prospective students and others
Participate in on-campus and virtual Admitted Students Programs
Review JD 1L and JD transfer applications, provide summary comments, and recommend action
Conduct applicant interviews and prepare interview reports for applicants' files
Admissions Publications: Print, Digital and Social Media
Assist in the preparation of printed publications, including the annual VLS Viewbook and the Career Services guide
Assemble and update statistics from various sources
Update admissions web pages
Collaborate in the development and preparation of content for Instagram, webinar, Zoom and other social media presentations
This position does not have supervisory responsibility and reports administratively and functionally to the Dean of Admissions.
A Bachelor's degree is necessary.
A Master's or terminal degree is preferred.
A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in admissions, student services, the legal field or relevant industry is necessary.
