The Technology Training Manager is the point of contact and manager for all technology training needs for the firm. Under the direction of the Director of Enterprise Applications & IT User support, the Manager is responsible for developing and executing a variety of professional and highly effective training services. The training is delivered through a blended approach of in-person, remote and e-learning sessions. This position requires hands-on work to identify training requirements through technology initiatives, training needs analysis, training requests, outreach, feedback, and service desk reports. The ideal candidate successfully collaborates with other departments of the firm such as Human Resources and Legal Talent to make recommendations on opportunities for upskilling staff and attorneys of the firm.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Partners with regional human resource professionals, business directors or operational department heads and other key business professionals to conduct performance and needs analysis. Recommends and implements appropriate learning interventions to address skills gaps and provide feedback to management.
Manages the execution of the Firm’s technology training strategy. Builds relationships with various stakeholders in the firm to understand their business objectives and align training efforts.
Leverages consulting skills to guide discussions and provide strategic direction for a recommended learning solution that will achieve results.
Manages the technology training team and is responsible for hiring, supervising, and evaluating the team.
Designs and develops world-class engaging programs and curricula by defining objectives, outlining course content and exercises, and developing assessments and supporting materials for learning efforts.
Develops appropriate technology learning paths for all levels of employees.
Work closely with the PMO to ensure technical training for new initiatives and upgrades have the appropriate training resources assigned.
Effectively uses the firm’s virtual platforms to ensure the learning environment is engaging. Works in conjunction with other members of the learning team as needed to stay informed of new features of the virtual platforms.
Collaborates with Senior Manager of Enterprise Applications to assist with new software deployments including testing and reporting results, soliciting feedback from pilot users, and developing appropriate training.
Independently manages and communicates project timelines and deliverables with various stakeholders across multiple projects.
Manages the firm’s LMS system by developing processes and procedures to ensure the best end user experience.
Manages training vendor relationships.
Stays up to date with industry and field current trends.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proven proficiency in designing and facilitating training programs in classroom and virtual environments.
Proficient in the application of instructional design, curriculum design, and adult-learning principles.
Ability to establish credibility with client base as a valuable resource and consultant in technical training and applications.
Proven ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing including active listening and the ability to articulate information clearly.
Possess a professional demeanor and strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
Must be a self-starter who takes ownership of assigned projects and shows commitment to the job while demonstrating the ability to work independently
Excellent information technology skills and proficient with desktop software used in a legal environment.
Master skills in Windows 10, Microsoft Office 365, iManage, iTimekeep and other legal applications.
Strong creative and marketing skills to promote technology adoption within the firm.
Strong project management skills.
Education and/or Experience:
A Bachelor's degree or a combination of experience and education in the technology field or related area required.
Five or more years of experience working in a law firm environment.
Familiar with supporting a variety of technology concepts, practices, and procedures.
