Major, Lindsey & Africa has been exclusively retained by Alaska Communications to conduct a search for a General Counsel. The General Counsel is the primary legal, compliance, regulatory and risk management officer for the Company. The General Counsel has a critical and far-reaching role supporting the executive team, Board, various entities and overseeing a range of critical commercial, litigation, labor and employment, regulatory, and IP matters.
Alaska Communications is Alaska’s broadband and managed IT service provider. The Company operates through two business segments: Wireline and Wireless. Alaska Communications wireline operations include advanced data networks and a diverse undersea fiber optic system connecting Alaska to the contiguous United States. The Alaska Communications wireless operations include a statewide 3G CDMA network and coverage extends from the North Slope to Southeast Alaska. The Wireless segment provides wireless voice and data service and products and other value-added services and equipment sales across Alaska.
The successful candidate will have at least 15 years of progressive relevant experience in a legal or regulatory leadership role. The ideal candidate will have both in-house and top law firm experience.
