Eversheds Sutherland (US) LLP is seeking an associate with 1-3 years of experience to work with its transactional and regulatory teams within the Energy practice group in the Washington, DC office or any US office location. (Atlanta, Austin, Chicago, Houston, New York, Sacramento, San Diego, Washington, DC.) We are looking to add a team member with ambition, a collaborative approach, and experience working on a variety of Energy matters, especially commodities trading, commodities trade finance, energy regulation, or environmental regulation. This practice group is very active in energy transition matters, including renewable energy generation, clean transportation fuels, battery storage, carbon trading, and carbon capture and sequestration. This group works closely with colleagues in international offices and international clients.
We cultivate exceptional attorneys across all levels by providing them with the tools and experiences needed to build successful careers! The associate will join an active and supportive practice that provides advice to industry leading companies on a full spectrum of Energy matters. Additionally, the associate will have extensive interaction with a variety of clients including swap dealers, commodity trading advisors, renewable fuel producers, electric and gas utilities, pipelines, refineries, power producers, electric cooperatives, and oilfield service companies. Essentially, this associate will have opportunities and options to develop their practice in multiple directions within the Energy practice group.
We are seeking candidates who possess:
One to three years of law firm experience or two to five years of in-house/government experience.
Knowledge of the Energy industry and/or skills related to a broad range of transactional or regulatory matters. Experience with other commodities (e.g., agriculture, metals, etc.) favorably considered, but not required.
Impressive writing and communication abilities.
Self-motivation, confidence, a team-player mindset, and a detail-oriented approach.
