Seagate’s Legal, Government Relations and Global Trust & Security Team is represented by a team of diverse, dynamic, and motivated attorneys and other professionals located in our offices around the globe, practicing cross-functionally in a variety of legal, government relations and security specialties.
To grow our team, we are looking for an experienced litigation attorney to join the Litigation Group within Seagate’s Legal, Government Relations and Global Trust & Security Team. This is a great opportunity to join Seagate’s fantastic in-house legal team and work on challenging and cutting-edge legal issues that require creative and proactive advice and client support. For this role, we are looking for a lawyer who has about 8-12 years of experience representing technology companies. Candidates should have strong litigation management experience, working at a high level across a variety of jurisdictions and subject matter areas. Candidates should have experience as people managers. Government regulatory compliance experience also would be very valuable for this role.
About the role - you will:
Handle a wide variety of litigation and arbitration matters, including patent, trade secret, copyright, trademark, licensing, contracts, class actions, antitrust, competition law, trade regulation and export controls, securities and shareholder claims, insurance, environmental, data privacy and cybersecurity, real estate, and other business disputes in the United States and foreign jurisdictions
Lead and manage complex litigation and arbitration matters and other disputes, develop strategies to resolve them in the best interests of the company, and work with the legal team and company executives to ensure these strategies align with business goals
Lead and manage other matters involving potential legal risk to the company, including internal investigations, government investigations, subpoenas, third party demand letters, indemnification requests, and business disputes that have not yet resulted in filed litigation
Assist our team in resolving disputes before any litigation has been filed and provide ongoing counseling and legal advice to minimize risk to the company
Manage and lead teams of lawyers, paralegals, and other professionals, with the ability to attract, develop and retain talent and help us grow the best team

Your experience includes:
Litigation attorney or government regulatory practice, either at a law firm or a public company in-house legal department
Strong substantive experience with litigation, arbitration, mediation, and investigations.
Litigation management experience, working at a high level across a variety of jurisdictions and subject matter areas
Experience as a people manager
Government regulatory experience in one or more of the following areas: compliance matters, enforcement, or investigations involving antitrust, competition law, securities, international trade, export controls, anti-corruption laws, reviews of foreign investments, cybersecurity, data breach and data privacy
Good standing in the bar(s) where licensed to practice law, with a preference for licensure in California, Colorado or Minnesota
