As an academic technology transfer office, we are committed to promoting the application of scientific research results for the public good. We work closely with our colleagues to help MSK achieve its overall mission of conquering cancer! OTD is seeking a Paralegal to join their growing team.
You will:
Review, draft, and negotiate agreements, including confidentiality agreements, material transfer agreements, and amendments to research-related agreements, under the supervision of the OTD legal team.
Support in-house counsel, management and outside law firms in handling actual and potential contracts.
Assist counsel in the drafting and preparation of legal documents, including work processing, editing, and proofreading.
Using extant software maintain and supervise the maintenance of up-to-date contracts databases including database entry, data validation and production of reports which include current lists of open, closed and potential transactions. Maintain statistics for trending purposes.
Maintain calendars for Assistant General Counsels.
Assist attorneys in the management of transactions. Assist in the development of OTD policies and procedures.
Provide required follow-up and coordination in response to legal documents, including obtaining required signatures for verification and certification.
You may handle the negotiation of simple agreements in coordination with MSK scientists.
You have:
Excellent word-processing, typing, and computer skills.
Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
The ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data pertaining to ongoing contract negotiations and other sensitive matters.
