Provide legal advice and representation on health law, reimbursement and contract matters.
BUSINESS ADVICE AND CONTRACTS . Provide legal advice to health system concerning business issues. Provide legal services relating to contracting for managed care contracting and university contractingdepartments. Work includes assistance in developing and modifying prototype agreements, and advice to contracts officers on a widespectrum of health system services.
HEALTH LAW . Provide legal services relating to health law matters regularly faced by an academic medical center that includes an integrated health caredelivery system, including Anti-Kickback and Stark law analysis, HIPAA and patient confidentiality generally, patient consent, EMTALA, medical/legal ethics, medical staff, pharmacy, quality management, medical student and resident coverage issues, privileging and credentialing. Work includes provision of advice and assistance to health system compliance staff.
REIMBURSEMENT . Serve as back up to primary reimbursement attorney in the delivery of legal services relating to third party payer reimbursement, including both federal health care programs and commercial insurance payers.
Juris Doctorate degree from American Bar Association accredited school.
Active member of state bar associationand in good standing.
Minimum five (5) years of legal experience in similar law practice is required.
Legal knowledge of substantive law in areas of functional responsibility;
