As a member of the Enterprise Litigation Team you will manage litigation across the country. Location will be based in Chicago, Illinois or Richardson, Texas.
HCSC’s litigators are actively involved in setting and leading litigation strategy, counseling clients proactively on disputes, pre-litigation matters and legal risk assessment, and working with paraprofessional and operations legal staff to drive successful outcomes and an efficient litigation process. The successful candidate be a creative, strategic thinker with excellent judgment and substantive experience and have extensive experience in all aspects of the lifecycle of litigated matters – especially complex litigation. The candidate must also have demonstrated eDiscovery experience. Candidate must be comfortable overseeing multiple projects & cross-functional programs with a strong executive presence.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: * Law degree and license to practice law in the state where the legal department is located. * 15 years’ experience in a law firm or corporate law department, with a practice focusing on litigation. * Experience with complex, high stakes litigation, including tactical and settlement decisions. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Demonstrated ability to think strategically on legal and business issues, to deliver quality and timely legal services. * Highly developed judgment skills and abilities. * Experience in the health insurance industry is preferred but not required.
