Supports the administrative functions and operations of McLaren Health Care Corporation’s insurance and risk management department.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Supports insurance, claims, and risk personnel with day-to-day operations including document management and distribution, maintaining databases, policy management, time keeping and ordering of supplies.
Assists with various duties including but not limited to providing claims verification, Certificates of Insurance, and motor vehicle reports.
Assists staff claim attorneys with various duties including but not limited to providing claim analysis, reports, gathering and preparing clam and audit materials, and other related duties.
Answers and screens all incoming calls and correspondence and responds independently when possible.
Organizes programs, events, or conferences by arranging for facilities and caterer, issuing information or invitations, coordinating speakers, and controlling event budget.
Schedules, coordinates, and assist with the preparation of materials for corporate programs and board meetings (corporate, subsidiaries, self-insured insurance programs, etc.).
Process and request legal fees and settlement checks for the professional/general liability claims.
Allocate and process for payment any/all invoices.
Schedules, coordinates, and assist with the preparation of materials for audits of MHC, self-insurance program, professional and general lability claims, subsidiaries, and aggregation of data.
Performs general administrative and clerical duties for the VP of Insurance & Risk Management including managing calendars, answering calls, and drafting documents and meeting minutes.
Prepares quarterly and annual reports of corporate and subsidiary claims activity, and special project and audit reports for committees and boards.
Coordinates and assists with the collection and production of information and documents related to litigation, investigations, insurance, claims, and risk matters.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
Associates degree in business, health law, health information or Paralegal
Three years administrative experience
Preferred:
Two years related experience in a law firm, legal department, insurance, or risk management department.
