Aerojet Rocketdyne, Inc. (“Company”) has engaged Major Lindsey & Africa on an exclusive basis to conduct a search for an Assistant General Counsel to be located in Huntsville, Alabama.

Position Overview: The Assistant General Counsel supports Aerojet Rocketdyne’s Defense business and will have a position that focuses on federal procurement law issues, including prime and subcontracts with the U.S. Government. The Defense law department provides an in-house resource to the business and handles the vast majority of the Defense business legal issues in-house. The Assistant GC reports directly to the General Counsel, Defense and will work cooperatively with other Aerojet Rocketdyne counsel, as well as independently with client representatives. The Assistant GC also will be involved in commercial contracts, litigation and claims, and related areas such as compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and other transactions.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years of experience as an attorney with specific and relevant previous experience involving U.S. government contracts. Specific experience including U.S government procurement law and litigation (bid protests, equitable adjustments, cost and pricing, and breach of contract) is required. Experience in other areas of commercial contracts and transactions is desirable.
Location: Huntsville, AL. In-office presence is required. Relocation will be provided.
Compensation: Competitive base and bonus commensurate with experience.
