Ballard Spahr has a new opportunity available in our largest department, Litigation. Our eDiscovery Project Manager will work with lawyers and paralegals both inside and outside the Department to provide the highest quality of legal assistance to our clients. The selected individual shall possess a mastery of technical and administrative skills, assume responsibility with minimal supervision and exercise initiative and judgment to make decisions within the scope of their assigned authority. Must be able to work individually and as part of a team, and practice collaboration with firm employees in all offices. Our Project Manager will track and monitor the progress of eDiscovery projects, develop and implement plans to resolve issues and coordinate and monitor the workflow of eDiscovery Analysts and contract attorneys.
Candidates considered will have strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey complex technical concepts in a simple and concise manner, experience documenting and organizing tasks and deliverables with meticulous attention to detail and the ability and willingness to see projects through to completion. To be successful in this position, you must have experience thinking under pressure, both individually and in a team environment and proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining proper priorities and scheduling on extremely tight deadlines.
Minimum requirements are as follows:
Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years’ of highly technical and progressively responsible litigation support or related experience preferred; previous experience working in a law firm or legal environment preferred.
Must possess detailed planning and organizational skills and have a thorough understanding of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM); especially data collection, processing, review, analysis and production.
Strong working knowledge of Relativity, including structured and conceptual analytics, search options, review options and the knowledge of which tools to use when.
Knowledgeable as to eDiscovery industry "best practices,” and the tools and processes associated with large scale, complex eDiscovery projects.
Experience with managing workflows and processes for litigation and regulatory legal matters.
Experience coordinating with a variety of audiences, including legal, technical, project management, and communicating across cross-functional partnerships.
Experience learning and understanding complex technology and data-related concepts, effectively discussing those concepts with technically skilled and non-technically skilled individuals, and applying that knowledge and understanding to discovery and legal strategies.
Experience developing program roadmaps and project plans.
Relativity Certified Administrator and/or Relativity Project Management Specialist Certification preferred. Flexibility to work overtime as needed. This position in located in Philadelphia and offers a hybrid work schedule of 2-3 days a week in the office. Flexibility to work overtime and travel to client sites, as needed.
