The selected student will participate in an innovative ten-week clerkship during the summer of 2023 from May to July (exact dates TBD). The student also will be enrolled in the LCLD 1L Scholars Program. This clerkship not only offers the law student the opportunity to work with leaders from Banco Santander International and Hunton Andrews Kurth, but also to network with lawyers from other LCLD member organizations. Participants will:
Fully participate in Hunton Andrews Kurth’s 2023 summer program;
Have an opportunity to be paired with an LCLD Fellow who will serve as a Mentor (for a minimum of one year);
Experience projects from both in-house and outside counsel perspectives; and
Attend the LCLD 1L Scholars Virtual Summit that will take place May 23 – May 25.
Eligibility
Students who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply for this opportunity:
Currently enrolled as a first-year law student in good standing at an ABA-accredited law school; and
Self-identify as a member of one or more of the following groups: Hispanic or Latino; Black or African American; American Indian or Alaska Native; Asian, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander; Two or More Races; Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender or other LGBTQ+ identification; Disabled Veteran, Recently Separated Veteran (last three years), Active Duty Wartime or Campaign Badge Veteran, Armed Forces Service Medal Veteran (within the meaning of the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974, as amended); or an Individual with a Disability (within the meaning of Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended); and
Legally eligible to work in the United States.
