Stearns Weaver Miller, a full-service commercial law firm with five offices across Florida, is currently searching for a Sr. Systems / Network Engineer. This position will be based in the Miami office and the ideal candidate will be highly- motivated, dedicated, and experienced team member who has the ability to adjust quickly to changing conditions, delivers results with confidence, collaboration and determination. This position requires proficiency in designing, implementing, administering, and supporting a wide range of technology found in a large enterprise environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintains and upgrades IT infrastructure including servers, switches, routers, firewalls, SAN, carrier redundancy and change control processes
• Continually evaluates the firm’s computer systems for overall health and performance, making recommendations as appropriate
• Apply software upgrades, security patches and plan maintenance for all systems
• Conducts advanced troubleshooting and performs root cause analysis on complex issues
• Support the Firm’s voice and video systems
• Creates and maintains clear, concise documentation of hardware inventory and configuration, software configuration, repair and maintenance history and procedures
• Research emerging technologies and recommends improvements to core technologies and architecture to achieve higher performance, increased availability, and better security
• Mentors Help Desk functions and will provide support to both attorneys and staff
• Participates in afterhours helpdesk support

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Excellent troubleshooting skills across desktops, servers, storage and networking
• Strong organizational, project planning and time management skills with the ability to Independently manage projects as assigned
• Knowledge with a variety of industry related technologies, best practices, standards and procedures
• Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints
• Ability to find innovative solutions to technology challenges
• Strong technical aptitude
• Strong interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate with attorneys, staff and team members
• Ability to work hours necessary to perform the essential duties and projects

4+ YEARS RQUIRED EXPERIENCE WITH:

• Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, MS
• Supporting and configuring technologies, g. Citrix XenApp/NetScaler
• Managing Enterprise Backup and DR
• Microsoft Exchange/Outlook
• VMware virtualization and SAN technology
• Check Point firewall configuration and policy management
• Experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching and routing, including traffic shaping, QOS, and routing protocols such as EIGRP
• Full disaster recovery (DR) experience including replication, fail-over and fail-back
• Document Management System experience, a plus
• Experience working in a law firm
• Traveling to other offices

REQUIRED EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology or related specialty; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Certifications desired, g. Microsoft MCSE, Cisco CCNP, VMware VCP
• Security-related industry certifications a plus
