Paralegals are a critical part of DLA Piper’s client service teams, working side by side with lawyers, co-counsel and clients on an array of substantive client matters. Most of our paralegals are career professionals. They work independently and on teams, locally, nationally and globally.
The paralegal team includes Case Assistants, Paralegals, Senior Paralegals and Paralegal Specialists. Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate
10 years' experience supporting a Commercial Real Estate practice group in a law firm environment Extensive title and survey experience
Experience forming entities and drafting basic entity organizational documents
Strong oral and written communication
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Strong organizational and matter management skills
Preferred Requirements:
Large firm experience
Experience with complex legal documents and multi-party closings is a plus
Experience with land use concepts and/or manufactured housing projects is a plus
Experience with creating organizational charts in Microsoft PowerPoint is a plus
What will your day look like? You will be responsible for ordering, reviewing, and analyzing title commitments, documents, surveys, zoning reports and local and municipal compliance letters. This will include careful and thorough analysis of complex real estate documents and drafting summaries of documents such as CC&Rs, REAs, development agreements and similar documents. You will assist in drafting real estate documents, preparing closing documents, conducting due diligence reviews and coordinating closings as required for commercial real estate transactions. You will develop, monitor, and update closing and other checklists for real estate transactions.
You will also form LLCs, partnerships, and corporations, and draft organizational documents, authority certificates and resolutions.

In accordance with New York City’s Pay Transparency Law, pay range for this position, if hired to work in New York City is $113,000 – $150,000. The compensation offered to a candidate selected for employment will be dependent upon various factors, including the candidate’s geographic market, skills, educational and professional background, experience and overall qualifications.
