Your Responsibilities

As an Intellectual Property Counsel for Deere & Company World Headquarters located in Moline, Illinois, you will have the following responsibilities:

• Lead intellectual property legal support for one or more Deere product lines or technology areas
• Lead one or more intellectual property committees
• Prepare, negotiate, and/or file patent applications, office actions, and agreements
• Provide intellectual property training
• Manage all aspects of litigation and alternative dispute resolution for one or more Deere product lines or technology areas

What Skills You Need

• 3 or more years of experience in the general practice of law in a private law firm, corporate law department, or government agency
• 3 or more years of experience advising on patent and copyright or trade secret matters
• Ability to travel up to 10%

What Makes You Stand Out

• Experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications
• Experience managing outside counsel in the US and abroad
• Experience drafting and negotiating contracts

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission or eligibility to be admitted to practice law by full admission or as in-house counsel in Illinois and/or other required jurisdiction
• Currently registered to practice before the USPTO
