Join Casey’s Legal Department as a Senior Legal Counsel working on government relations and real estate.
As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will work with the Legal and Government Relations departments to:
Provide legal and legislative advice and counsel and support key partners in a broad range of government relations, legislative and legal matters and professionally manage relations with business partners.
Work with Casey’s contract lobbyists and meet and interact with State Legislators, members of Congress, and their staffs and other government officials to advance Casey’s legislative issues.
Monitor and engage in state and federal legislative and regulatory issues of concern to Casey’s.
Ability to work effectively and professionally with federal and state regulators and lawmakers and other government officials with responsibility for overseeing Casey’s policies in the industry.
Draft and negotiate documents such as purchase and sale agreements, asset purchase agreements, leases, LOIs, deeds, easements, and related documents.
Independently manage purchase and sale of properties and businesses.
This position will work cross-functionally with partners across all geographic regions.

Requirements
Graduation from an accredited law school with a Juris Doctor degree.
At least five years of legal experience in the government relations field.
Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work while handling and leading multiple matters of significance.
Ability to work effectively in a complex environment with a high degree of collaboration.
10 - 15% travel required.
This role will be onsite in Ankeny, Iowa (Des Moines area), with a hybrid work environment in place.
