Job Description:

• Assists the Director with docket management, court filings, preliminary hearings, and communication with government agencies.

• Provides logistical and organizational support for the Director and student attorneys on active litigation teams.

• Provides support for the Director during term breaks and examination period, and when needed as a result of scheduling conflicts.

• Manages and staffs weekly legal clinic on the south side of Chicago.

• Assists the Director with case development, new client intakes, and community partnerships.

• Provides supplementary supervisory support for student attorneys and interns.

• Interacts with faculty, researchers and staff for committee work or information.

• Uses general understanding and experience to administer the delivery of services to program participants and/or beneficiaries.

• Performs other related work as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Education:

• A Juris Doctor is strongly preferred.

Experience:

• Experience working in a legal setting preferred.

Preferred Competencies

• Knowledge of legal environments.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Legal research and writing skills.

• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and within deadlines.

• Strong customer service skills and experience to meet the needs and goals of clients.
