Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird seeks an assistant attorney general to represent the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services primarily in relation to its Medicaid program. The attorney will appear in administrative hearings and state court actions and provide legal advice of complex state and federal law governing the Medicaid program.
A successful candidate will be passionate about public service and committed to providing high quality legal representation supporting the rule of law.
Health care or litigation experience preferred. Admission to practice law in Iowa is required.
Provide quality, professional legal representation to the State of Iowa, its agencies and departments; to guarantee effective enforcement of the state's criminal law by providing technical assistance to county attorneys, upholding criminal convictions at the appellate level, and administering programs to assist crime victims; to provide vigorous enforcement of the State's Consumer Fraud and Environmental laws; to provide written legal opinions to assist public officials in their duties; and to advocate for the interests of the State and its citizens.
