The Legal Specialist is responsible for initiating and producing complex work at a high level of competence in one or more areas of law in support of attorneys and/or clients. Work product is self-directed and requires significant independent judgment and discretion. Advanced knowledge and understanding of practice areas, processes, procedures, rules and regulations is required. The Legal Specialist provides leadership and is considered an expert in one or more areas of law; performs research, educates and updates clients/departments on specific legal topics; and may take the lead on significant projects. The specific duties of the Legal Specialist may vary based on department needs. The Legal Specialist in this position will have a primary focus on general health law, employment law, investigations and litigation. Health law experience is strongly preferred.
