Benesch is proud to announce the opening for an Onboarding & Integration Manager in our Chicago OR Cleveland office! This position is hybrid and has work from home flexibility.
Position Summary:
The Onboarding & Integration Manager manages the strategy, directed by the Chief Talent Officer (CTO), for onboarding and integrating all new lateral attorney and paralegal hires into the firm's culture, processes, and teams. They successfully combine new hire needs with long-term success, taking special care to focus on the orientation experience and the first 12 months of the lateral's experience.
Essential Integration Functions:
Manages a strategic approach to the onboarding of lateral hires, customized based on needs and demographics of the incoming new hire.
Identifies innovative ways to onboard lateral hires, including use of technology and other platforms.
Designs and implements a robust integration plan for all paralegal, associate and of counsel lateral hires.
Works with CTO on integration plans for incoming partner laterals and new market laterals.
Partners with administrative leaders to determine the appropriate onboarding and integration sessions or internal meetings for optimal onboarding and integration experience.
Partners with Firm leadership to discuss onboarding and integration planning for incoming attorneys.
Collaborates with the Professional Development team around initial training and program attendance for associate and of counsel laterals.
Communicates regularly with paralegals, associate and of counsel laterals during their transition and onboarding process to provide visibility and clarity on what they can expect; serves as a resource for: removing barriers to success, making introductions and presenting relationship-building opportunities.
Effectively manages multiple projects and timelines simultaneously.
Prepares and adheres to program budgets.
Thorough knowledge of onboarding, integration and experience trends and best practices.
Organizes and prioritizes multiple projects in a dynamic and complex environment, meeting deadlines and successfully managing the daily workload.
Additional Responsibilities:
Assists with special projects as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.

JD with a minimum of 2 years practice experience in a large law firm is preferred or a Bachelor Degree in Business Management, Human Resources Management, or related field; with a minimum of 3 years' experience in onboarding, integration, or employee experience, in a law firm or professional services environment. The Onboarding & Integration Manager must have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken and ability to establish credibility, build trust, and develop positive working relationships with team members, firm leadership, lawyers, and other professionals. An ability to successfully perform position requirements with excellent organizational, time-management and prioritization skills is required. A demonstrated advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PPT is required. Ability to travel periodically required.
