This role will provide global antitrust advice to colleagues across the Legal Division, Pfizer’s Business Development team, and commercial business units and clients and will report to the VP & Assistant General Counsel/Chief Antitrust Counsel. It spans antitrust merger advice, counseling on pricing, contracting and distribution arrangements, training of colleagues across the company, and advising on industry consortia interactions. The role will include supporting and or leading investigations involving antitrust regulators and coordinating with Litigation colleagues on antitrust litigation matters. In addition, responsibilities will include providing legal counsel to Pfizer’s Competitive Intelligence function and contributing to Legal Division initiatives.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will provide subject matter expertise and counseling clients on all areas of antitrust law, including Clayton Act Section 7 (mergers), Sherman Act, Robinson-Patman, and the antitrust laws of foreign jurisdictions. This position works closely with fellow attorneys, as well as, advising clients one-on-one in transactional arena, pricing and promotional planning, FTC issues, investigations, trade association matters, industry consortia, and distribution arrangements. The successful candidate will be coordinating merger analyses, filings and reviews on a worldwide basis.
The successful candidate will be managing and working with U.S. and non-U.S. colleagues and outside counsel when necessary to provide client with needed analyses. And, will be interacting with FTC, EU or other government (U.S. and non-U.S.) agencies as part of merger reviews, investigations, advancement of company positions. Developing antitrust training programs and conducting training sessions for audiences in the U.S. and around the world including implementing Company policy and standards for business conduct through participating in colleague training and compliance initiatives.
The successful candidate will :
Contribute knowledge and advice on business related matters as needed and appropriate.
Negotiate, prepare and review agreements, including licensing, supply and service agreements of all types.
Maintain awareness of new laws, and other industry developments to stay up to date in the antitrust domain.
Support and contribute to Pfizer Legal Division projects and initiatives.
Provide counseling on Business Intelligence matters.
Position may involve some, but not regular, travel.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must Have:
J.D. or equivalent Law Degree
Active member of a state bar, in good standing
Strong academic background
7+ years of work experience
4+ years of substantive U.S. antitrust (counseling and transactional) experience in a law firm to function proficiently as a subject matter expert, government agency or in-house Legal Department
Must be comfortable in a counseling role with clients
Must demonstrate excellent communications skills (both informal and formal)
Must demonstrate the ability to foster collaboration and compromise.
Must possess a desire to learn new areas of law as needed

Nice To Have:
Foreign antitrust experience also a plus
Experience in antitrust litigation is a plus, but not required and cannot be the only or primary antitrust experience
