AIG’s Global Legal, Compliance, Regulatory and Government Affairs (GLCR) department is comprised of attorneys and other professionals providing high-quality advisory and transactional support with integrity and objectivity across all parts of the organization. AIG is GLCR department is looking for an attorney to serve as an Associate Counsel - Excess Casualty and Financial Lines Products in New York, NY.
Position Description:
Primary responsibilities for this position include:
• Providing day-to-day legal advice to Excess Casualty and Financial Lines executives and underwriters with respect to transactional, regulatory, legal and compliance matters.
• Advising and supporting business partners on regulatory compliance, conducting legal research, and negotiating, drafting and/or reviewing insurance policies, endorsements, applications, warranties, policyholder notices, ancillary agreements and advertising and marketing materials in connection with various Excess Casualty and Financial Lines coverages. • The person will also partner with regulatory personnel to address regulatory matters impacting the relevant business units, including the countrywide filing of forms and rates, responses to inquiries on insurance regulatory issues, and resolution of regulatory and consumer complaints.
Education/Experience:
• 2+ years of experience in either a law firm or in-house legal department.
• JD from an accredited law school and strong academic credentials.
• Admitted to practice in at least one state.
• Familiarity with the business of insurance and insurance regulation is preferred.
