Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position in California is $195,500 - $264,500. This role sits on our HR Legal team of three attorneys and a program manager. The role works closely with other teams in our Legal, Compliance, and Policy and People and Places (HR) organizations.
As an employment counsel, you will need to build stakeholder empathy by understanding and anticipating the needs of our stakeholders including People & Places and business leaders. Responsibilities
Manage worker claims (agency charges, demand letters, and litigation) at Intuit’s high standards while developing new ways to scale this critical work and improve processes
Use inquiry to truly understand needs and advise our HR partners on a range of worker-related issues, from pay equity to complex exits to wage and hour compliance and beyond
Work across variety of stakeholders to proactively identify key practical risks and develops response plan and strategy for broad range of issues
Drive accountability within cross-functional teams on HR legal projects to deliver desired outcome (not just providing advice)
Track new global employment law developments and changes in the external environment that impact our practices and approach and translating those into clear actions
Rapidly build trusted and inclusive partnerships with partners in HR centers of excellence and provides clear, data-driven insights to address concerns and reach best outcomes
Drive teams to build scalable solutions to recurring challenges
Deep understanding Intuit’s unique culture and values and bring those into all the work we do
Execute priorities and initiatives for the broader legal and compliance organization, including the many new challenges presented by the external environment
Use expertise to identify opportunities to accelerate Intuit’s strategy and coach and teach team members to help them address issues on their own
Receive and give feedback and coaching as needed across boundaries and functions
7+ years of employment law experience at a law firm or in-house
Litigation experience either at an outside law firm or in house
Deep knowledge of employment law concepts, terminology and principles
Experience working with complex data and metrics to drive decisions and assessing risk or managing complex litigation
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including being able to communicate the most relevant information to influence and drive change without having to provide every detail of legal analysis
Strong organization and project management skills
Ability to learn new technology and tools
