What would you do for EnergyUnited?
Provide quality member service for EnergyUnited and all businesses associated with EU.
Support the execution of new.
and existing programs and assist in tracking metrics.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all compliance procedures.
Follow any state and federal regulations regarding the collection of past due accounts.
Prepare communication on delinquent accounts requiring special handling and maintain up-to-date records in EnergyUnited’s system.
Work with collection agencies.
Maintain up to date documentation on member accounts. Investigate inquiries, make necessary adjustments, and update member files.
Work with attorneys on member judgements, bankruptcies, and confirm compliance and documentation.
Review accounts for monthly write-offs and prepare reports for write-off balance approval.
Perform functions related to guarantees and notifying guarantors including transferring unpaid balances.
Explain services provided, rates, policies, and procedures to members.
Assist Billing Specialists and Member Support Specialists and other internal customers as needed with collections and billing related issues.
Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely billing of EU accounts.
Demonstrate flexibility toward working outages, overtime, and extended shifts as instructed by the Manager.
Monitor key accounts for billing and meter reading variances and notify manager of potential issues.
Identify meter issues and generate field service orders when items cannot be resolved from the office.
Ensure meter reading information is current and accurate prior to transmitting billing information.
Learn working knowledge of all areas concerning consumer records, including billing, capital credits, budget billing, rates, etc.
Process service requests such as connects, disconnects, changeovers, etc. and performing the required actions according to existing operating procedures.
Work collaboratively in a team environment.
Maintain a safe and orderly work environment.
What do you need?
An associate degree related to business or a High School diploma plus 3-4 years related collection experience.
Proven experience in bad debt collection efforts.
Proficiency in PC programs including Word, Excel, etc.
Excellent time management and organizational skills and strong data entry skills.
A valid NC Driver’s License.

Hours from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. – Monday through Friday. Some irregular working hours may be required. Must be available for work during adverse weather conditions.
This position is categorized as Telework, which is a work arrangement that allows an employee to perform work and duties associated with their position at their home office.
This position requires that the person live or move within one of the nineteen counties served by the Cooperative or within 40 miles of any EnergyUnited office.
