Job Duties:
The Associate Director has administrative responsibility for monitoring the policies and procedures of the University student conduct system and for administering the Student Code of Conduct. The Associate Director will report to the Associate Dean of Students and Director of Student Rights and Responsibilities.
The Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities oversees administration and supervision of the University conduct system with authority to formulate and carry out institutional policy. Job Duties
Investigation & Adjudication of Cases, and Case Management (45%)
Acts as an administrative hearing officer which includes, counseling students on conduct matters; enacting appropriate sanctions or referring to the conduct boards, and monitoring sanctions;
Initiates and maintains conduct correspondence sent to students involved in disciplinary infractions, their parents, and Attorney's;
Writes investigative reports for student organization investigations and cases being referred to the ECU Student Conduct Board
Investigate and adjudicate cases involving fraternities and sororities, club sports, and student organizations;
Assists in the maintenance of accurate conduct records, and authorizes appropriate access to student records in accordance with university policies, and state and federal laws;
Communicates with law enforcement regarding students referred to OSRR;
Investigate allegations of academic integrity violations.
Student Conduct Board, Academic Integrity, Title IX Hearings (20%)
Serve as a hearing advisor for suspension and expulsion level cases;
Serve as a hearing advisor for Title IX cases;
Facilitate reviews of academic integrity appeals by the Academic Integrity Review Committee.
Training and Outreach (15%)
Serve as the initial point of contact for cases involving academic integrity violations;
Initiates and delivers ongoing training for the members of the Student Conduct Board, Academic Integrity Board, and Academic Review Board;
Educates the University community about the campus conduct process and academic integrity through presentations and participation at various programs in classes, residence halls, and during New Student Orientation.
Supervision (10%)
Provides supervision for administrative and graduate staff;
Other Duties (10%)
Serves as a liaison with the Greenville community and to other on-campus departments;
Participates in special projects and serves on various University committees as assigned by the Director;
Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed;

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Minimum Education/Experience:
Master's Degree Minimum of three years of experience at the post-secondary level. A demonstrated understanding of student development and counseling theories and the ability to apply theory in practice in a university setting is necessary. Demonstrated experience conducting investigations Knowledge of legal issues in higher education Supervisory experience Experience interacting with the public, attorneys, parents, students, staff, and faculty. Knowledge of current issues and trends related to academic integrity in higher education Knowledge of federal laws related to Clery, Title IX, and VAWA.

OSRR administers the East Carolina University Student Code of Conduct, which governs students on and off-campus conduct. The office staff is also engaged in campus education on various issues such as academic integrity, citizenship development, and conflict resolution.
