Job Description:The Captain reports directly to the Deputy Chief and assumes the duties of the Deputy Chief and VP for Public Safety and Emergency Management in their absence.  They shall be a visible presence within the University community, identifying problems and coordinating and addressing various community policing and problem-solving activities.  The Captain directs and coordinates the activities of all patrol and public safety initiatives within the Department of Public Safety.  They shall respond to the scene of major incidents on campus, providing direction to supervisory and line personnel while coordinating Public Safety activities with those of other University departments and outside agencies
