The Ohio State University Michael E. Moritz College of Law seeks a dynamic Admissions professional with a deep commitment to inclusive excellence to serve as Senior Recruiting Enrollment Specialist.
The Senior Recruiting Enrollment Specialist reports to the Assistant Dean of Admission, Financial Aid, and Inclusive Excellence. This position will join the Assistant Dean in recruiting an academically excellent and culturally diverse student body and in shaping an Ohio State Law community where inclusive excellence and belonging are key priorities.
The selected candidate in this role will help plan and implement the outreach and recruiting strategy for the Office of Admissions; counsel prospective students regarding admission to the Moritz College of Law; represent the College at on-campus and off-campus functions with regard to admission; and serve as a liaison with pre-law advisors. The Senior Recruiting Enrollment Specialist will be a primary office contact for prospective and admitted students; have responsibility for admission-related recruiting events, including in-person and virtual open houses and admitted student visitation opportunities; and oversee office function and organization while advising and counseling the Assistant Dean strategic initiatives for admissions.
The Senior Recruiting Enrollment Specialist will also read applicant files, oversee purchasing and requisitions for admission-related events, coordinate staff training, and make recommendations on the recruiting budget.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Advanced degree in relevant field may be desirable. 4 years of relevant experience required. 4-8 years of relevant experience preferred.
Required Qualifications:
Excellent writing, oral communication, presentation, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects.
Self-initiative.
Ability to exercise sound judgment in a highly confidential setting.
Experience and demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.
Substantial travel required; some evening and weekend work required.
Desired Education:Masters degree or equivalent in disciplines including Higher Education, M.B.A and J.D. is preferred.
Desired Experience:
Two or more years of admissions experience strongly preferred.
Other professional experience in inclusive excellence, or student affairs will be considered.
Familiarity with various software programs (Word, Excel, Unite) and/or willingness to learn and use these and other programs to execute duties preferred.
Responsibilities:
Review applicant files and prepare recruiting reports for Assistant Dean.
Oversee purchasing and requisitions for admission related events.
Coordinate staff training.
Provide documentation for and recommendations on the recruiting budget.
Counsel the Assistant Dean and Dean on strategic initiatives related to admissions, diversity, and inclusive excellence.
Plan and implement outreach and recruiting strategies; including coordinating the offices on-campus, off-campus, and virtual recruitment activities
Represent the College at recruitment events across the nation;
Counsel prospective applicants regarding the application process.
