Lambda Legal – Staff Attorney or Senior Attorney

Overview:

Attorneys at Lambda Legal engage in cutting-edge impactful litigation, public policy advocacy, and education furthering Lambda Legal’s mission. They work on trial and appellate litigation, legislative and executive branch lobbying, coalition and other community activities, public education events, and other in-person advocacy and educational activities. You will primarily support the Youth in Out-of-Home Care Project.

Experience:

The successful candidate will have three or more years litigation experience with a passion for protecting civil rights and must be licensed to practice law in the required region, or able to waive into the bar in a state in the required region, or willing to take the next available bar exam. Working with or advocating for youth in foster care, juvenile justice, or immigration systems or youth experiencing homelessness, or other government or social services for youth or other related experience is helpful but not required.

Location/Relocation:

The ideal candidate is located in NYC and able to commute to the Regional Office as their schedule demands.

Travel:

Periodic travel for as required by court, lobbying, educational, and other duties.

Compensation: Set by CBA based on number of years of experience and location.

For NYC, this position is targeted at Staff Attorney (3+ years of experience), $75,494 - $139,258; or Senior Attorney (6+ years of experience): $98,154 $153,184. Lambda will consider candidates with more experience who would receive higher compensation.
