The Practice Support Coordinator is a mid-level position and is responsible for coordinating technical aspects such as assisting with strategic and legal aspects for all assigned projects and matters involving electronic discovery.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serves as the primary point of contact throughout the discovery lifecycle, applying in-depth knowledge and experience to provide expert consultation and advice on technology and best practices. Consults with case teams to effectively develop and apply technical strategies, requirements and goals in order to develop and implement project plans, including data collection, processing, document review, document production and trial. Acts as the primary point of contact and liaison for electronic discovery issues between the legal team and the client and other external parties to ensure proper communication between the parties. Advises legal team on technology options to respond to specific discovery needs including but not limited to recommendations for products to perform early case assessment, document search, and document reviews in the most efficient, timely, and cost-effective manner. Ensures standard procedures for electronic discovery and litigation support projects are consistently applied across the life of the case. Develop cost estimates and advises on maximizing efficiencies and cost reductions. Oversees the creation of statistical reports providing information on collection, filtering, processing, review and productions. Apply and delegates appropriate workflow tasks, including data management, constructing search queries, processing, production and quality control.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
A thorough understanding of litigation lifecycle.
A thorough understanding of discovery processes.
Detailed knowledge of the litigation lifecycle, including relevant Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and local discovery rules.
Demonstrated experience managing all aspects of each step in the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM).
A high level of technical knowledge of common discovery platforms and processing platforms: (Ipro, Relativity, Disco, Everlaw and others).
Exhibit operational knowledge with at least one e-discovery (EDD) processing tool, such as eCapture, Nuix Workstation, Relativity Processing, etc.
Ability to work independently and proactively to meet aggressive timelines in a dynamic environment, including managing and prioritizing deliverables with cross-functional teams.
Assisting attorneys and paralegals with search queries, email threading, document review database analytics, creation of custom tags, review batches, batch-printing, reports, exhibit/case management, productions, depositions, and trial presentations.
Monitoring and managing the team's email inbox, ensuring that all incoming communications are reviewed promptly and providing timely and professional responses to internal and external stakeholder.
Crafting clear, concise, and professional emails that effectively convey complex information, ensuring mutual understanding and alignment with project objective.
Collaborating with the team to define project timelines and project milestones within the litigation lifecycle.
Qualifications:
5+ years hands-on experience working in ediscovery at a vendor, law firm, or in-house legal department.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Normal law office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
The reasonably expected pay scale for this position depending on experience is $95,000 - $130,000 annually, exempt. The actual salary within that range will depend on the selected candidate’s location and experience. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
