In this role, the Contracts Analyst, Sr actively manages the process of contract review and negotiation while providing guidance and consultation to our IS team, IS Leadership and business owners as needed.
Essential Duties:
Review, process and negotiate IS related contracts; provide redline review and recommendations based on our IS standards; flagging both legal and business issues for negotiation.
Negotiate directly with vendor and/or vendor attorneys or internal staff until consensus has been reached on all points and provide coaching, review, and feedback of contracts for internal staff assist until consensus has been reached on all points.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to meet deadlines consistently.
Ability to provide excellent customer service to internal customers and outside vendors. Serve as a point of contact for all contractual matters; ensuring timely review, approval, and execution of all IS related contracts.
Coordinate the processing of documents through our internal IS and Procurement processes.
Prepares and disseminates status updates to all concerned parties regarding contract review, compliance, modifications, etc.
Maintain our contractual records and documentation in our IS Contracts Database and IS Contracts tracker to ensure documentation of key correspondence, document changes, internal business and legal approvals.
Provide and promote high standards of professionalism and leadership throughout all transactions, appropriately representing USCs business philosophies, protocols and standards
Persistent attention to detail, while maintaining overall status of all projects
Responsible for understanding and complying with all USC policies that are applicable to the job function and participate in mandatory training in a timely manner.
Other duties as assigned. Selected Contract Manager may act as team lead.
Required Qualifications:
Req High school or equivalent
Req 5 years Contract review and processing experience with substantial knowledge of legal terms and conditions, and/or experience interacting with IS vendors, solutions, and contracts
Req Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral
Req Developed negotiation skills
Req Demonstrate ability to work in a team environment, securing buy-in and agreement through collaborative efforts
Req Demonstrate ability to analyze business practices and translate to contractual requirements
Req Demonstrate ability to understand the timing and cycles of contract negotiations
Req Demonstrate ability to manage a complex process with multiple stakeholders and multiple variables
Req Demonstrate ability to show consistent process improvement and awareness of LEAN principles
Req Demonstrate ability to track details and nuances of a technical vendor documents
Req Example to others in ethics, empathy, and compliance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Pref Bachelor's degree OR
Pref Paralegal certificate or J.D. AND
Required Licenses/Certifications:
Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)
The annual base salary range for this position is $81,120.00 - $133,010.00.
