About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Removal Defense Paralegal to join our immigration law team. This in-office, full-time position requires a strong foundation in removal defense and a passion for advocating on behalf of immigrants facing deportation. The ideal candidate is bilingual in English and Spanish and eager to contribute to a fast-paced, client-focused practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare filings for immigration court (EOIR) and USCIS
Draft motions, briefs, and supporting documents for removal defense cases
Work closely with attorneys to prepare for hearings and trials
Communicate with clients, witnesses, and government agencies
Conduct legal research in both immigration and criminal matters
Assist with intake and case management
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of experience in removal defense
Fully bilingual in English and Spanish (spoken and written)
Strong understanding of removal/deportation proceedings
Excellent legal writing and organizational skills
Must be able to work on-site full time (no remote work available)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with criminal alien defense or crimmigration cases
Any criminal defense experience is a plus, but not required
Willingness tolearn criminal defense practices if not already experienced
