Overview: Karuna is seeking an energetic, versatile and highly driven attorney to join its growing legal team as Vice President, Commercial and Healthcare Compliance Counsel. The successful candidate will provide legal advice to the Commercial, Medical Affairs, Regulatory and Government Affairs teams, and will have experience providing advice on compliance with healthcare and regulatory law, including the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, as well with commercial agreements regarding research and development, manufacturing, quality, sales, and marketing of pharmaceuticals. Prior experience assisting with commercial launch is essential. Reporting to the Vice President, Legal Affairs, this position will work with multiple functional areas and assist on a broad range of legal matters across the organization.
Company: Karuna is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company driven to create and deliver transformative medicines for people living with psychiatric and neurological conditions. Karuna plans to submit an NDA for its lead product candidate to the FDA in mid-2023 and, if approved, will transition to a commercial stage company.

Compensation: A competitive compensation package will be offered for this position, consistent with the candidate’s level of experience.
Experience: The successful candidate will have at least 8-10 years of legal experience in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry, including experience with an in-house legal department, law firm experience is a plus. Commercial launch experience is essential.
Location: This position will be based in Boston, MA with flexibility regarding onsite/offsite work schedules.
