Atlas Crane, which is led by its founder, provides lift services of up to 1,200 tons of capacity to customers in the Midwest, Great Lakes, and Northeast regions. This is a ground floor, on-site (generally 3-4 days a week) opportunity in the Company’s headquarters. The General Counsel will be a key member of the senior management team, reporting to Atlas Crane’s CEO. The General Counsel will be a strategic contributor to the Company’s growth efforts, supporting M&A and other potential acquisitions. As an initial team of one, the successful candidate will have a “roll up the sleeves” mentality and practical judgment to handle the legal aspects of the Company’s day-to-day business, including a wide variety of commercial and equipment contracts, the Company’s interactions with unions, as well as corporate governance and employment matters. While a very hands-on role, it also likely offers greater control over one’s schedule.
We’re seeking candidates with at least 7-10 years of legal experience, either in a law firm or with some in-house experience. The ideal candidate will be an ambitious self-starter who is energized by this ground floor opportunity. S/he needs to have strong transactional skills, sophisticated business acumen, be highly motivated, a good team player who is also able to work independently, and someone who wants to be a part of a company with tremendous growth objectives. Some background in construction or labor related areas is a plus.
