O’Melveny has an immediate opening for an Attorney Professional Development Coordinator. This role can be based out of any of our East or West Coast offices. The Attorney Professional Development Coordinator will work closely with O’Melveny’s Attorney Professional Development Managers, Senior Attorney Training & CLE Manager, and broader Talent Development team to support an array of attorney development areas including trainings, formal feedback processes, and additional firmwide initiatives to promote the overall engagement and success of the firm’s associates and counsel.
This role reports to the firm’s Attorney Professional Development Managers responsible for attorney training, CLE accreditation/compliance, and the annual associate/counsel review process.
The salary range in CA for this role is $62-$80k and represents the firm’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Attorney Professional Development Manager to coordinate the annual associate/counsel and paralegal performance review processes.
Support the associate/counsel bonus and compensation process, including tracking market data and preparing for the review committee’s annual meetings.
Assist with launching and implementing the firm’s new IMPROVE feedback initiative.
Support programming and curriculum implementation for the firm’s associate/counsel Leadership Academies.
Assist with annual, multi-state bar dues renewals and related reporting.
Support CLE programming for the firm’s attorneys and clients, including maintaining attendance records, preparing CLE materials, submitting applications for credit in relevant jurisdictions, and providing logistical support.
Monitor and learn CLE accreditation rules and regulations in various states to help ensure that CLE-designated programs satisfy applicable accreditation requirements.
Handle scheduling, drafting invitations, and other Talent Development communications.
Partner with the Professional Development team to foster strong working relationships with partners, associates, and counsel.
Support overall Talent Development Department needs with special projects and firmwide initiatives as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Minimum of 2 years of development or program coordination experience in a legal professional environment.
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Knowledge of attorney development procedures
Collaborative, resilient, high energy, team player with the ability to work in a fast paced, intellectually rigorous environment.
Strong organizational skills with a focus on attention to detail, problem solving, and the ability to multitask.
Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills. Must be able to tailor written work product to the appropriate audience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Workday.
