 About the Job 
 Summary 
 Our law firm is seeking to hire a full-time immigration attorney who will be responsible for managing a caseload of primarily U.S District Court litigation matters, and appeals in the U.S. Courts of Appeal, mostly in the Ninth Circuit, in addition to matters at the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA).&#xa0; Qualified applicants will have substantial experience in litigating habeas petitions, mandamus actions, FOIA lawsuits, and other immigration litigation matters in the U.S. District Courts, with significant preliminary injunctive relief litigation experience.&#xa0; Applicants must also demonstrate substantial experience and skill with appellate immigration matters. In this position, you will be responsible for working with the other lawyers in our firm to identify and develop creative and effective strategies in detention and removal cases, in addition to family-based, humanitarian, and business immigration matters that require, or may benefit, from district court litigation. The attorney filling this role is also expected to effectively collaborate and network with other attorneys, law firms, and organizations involved with federal court litigation nationally. 
 What You&#39;ll Do 
 
 Manage caseload of district court, circuit court, and BIA cases 
 Oversee the distribution of work in these practice areas between yourself and the other attorneys in the firm 
 Communicate effectively with the law firm&#39;s other attorneys, paralegals, and with clients and their families to provide exemplary representation 
 Identify and implement litigation strategies to vigorously defend the firm&#8217;s clients against detention and removal through district court and appellate litigation 
 Draft and file petitions for writ of habeas corpus and motions for preiminary injunctive relief, along with necessary responses and replies in those matters, in the U.S. District Courts 
 Identify and implement litigation strategies to aggessively and effectively address agency delay and abuse in appropriate instances for the law firm&#39;s clients with affirmative immigration processes 
 Make remote or, as necessary, in-person appearances in District Court hearings and Circuit Court oral arguments 
 Effectively communicate and collaborate with other attorneys and experts in the field&#8212;locally and nationally&#8212;to leverage as much knowledge and advice as possible for the benefit of our clients 
 Perform consultations for potential clients who are interested in the law firm&#8217;s service 
 Demonstrate responsible financial management of clients&#39; cases, and adhere to the firm&#39;s billing requirements

 The ability to become licensed to practice law in Arizona within six months is preferred
